A Pharmacy Technician is a skilled healthcare professional who works under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist to assist in the preparation, dispensing, and management of medications. They play a vital role in ensuring the safe, effective, and accurate delivery of pharmaceutical services to patients.
Pharmacy technicians are responsible for tasks such as measuring, packaging, and labeling prescriptions, maintaining medication inventory, handling patient records, and providing basic medication-related information. They work in diverse settings including hospitals, community pharmacies, clinics, and pharmaceutical industries. Their role bridges the gap between pharmacists and patients by supporting pharmacists in clinical and administrative duties, which allows pharmacists to focus more on patient counseling and advanced healthcare services.
